Lipstick Stamps on My Passport

You know that moment when you go to update your website, and you realize that you haven't blogged here in awhile? Like, a long while. OOPS. To be fair, I had a lot going on! At the end of July, I moved back to my hometown for a new dayjob. The cats and I are loving my new apartment, and the job's keeping me busy!In August, I released Finding Center, the second full length book in my District Ballet Company series. This book's pretty special to's a lot about what comes after the happily ever after. Happily ever afters aren't like "poof! We're back together! Everything's great!" especially when one person has a mental illness and one person has no idea he's still wrestling with losing something that mattered a lot to him. But don't worry. They're going to be okay. I promise! In September, I launched District Ballet Company's own website. Check it out and stay tuned for more inside information coming soon!I'm working on a new romance story (we'll codename this one #WYW) and it's coming so easily to me. I'm hoping that keeps up! My YA is back with my agent, and I think for NaNoWriMo, I'm tackling my middle grade idea. I need to clone myself, clearly. If you want to add me on NaNoWriMo (god help us all...), I'm this_wallflower. Don't ask. I was really angsty and emo at some point in my life. (or now. SHHHHH.)It's the end of OCTOBER, already. Where is this year GOING?! Don't ask me. I don't know. I'm going to be launching a newsletter next week and it's going to have writing tips, book recommendations, things I'm loving, etc etc. I'll post that here and on Twitter! Until then, here are some things I'm currently enjoying.Book: Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. I'm only about halfway through but oh man, I'm really loving this book on living a creative life. Normally these books get too touchy feely for me but this is hitting all the right notes.Music: Okay, okay, totally late to the party but Halsey's BADLANDS is uber amazing and I'm writing to it quite often. And One Direction's upcoming album sounds kind of fantastic. I'm not ashamed. It's fun, pop music. One day I'm going to write a book inspired by a Taylor Swift song and a companion book inspired by a One Direction song. ONE DAY. Publishers, if you want this, you should totally call my agent ;)Show: Quantico! Quantico is amazing! I'm also watching Friday Night Lights for the first time in my life (I KNOW. I'm forever behind the times). Never thought I'd care about football but here we are!Youtube: Okay, so I was a HUGE fan of the Lizzie Bennet Diaries on Youtube. If you haven't watched, it's amazing and I highly recommend. It's basically a contemporary retelling via vlogs of Pride and Prejudice. And I'm late to the party on this one too but Anne with an E is the same thing, but Anne of Green Gables which is one of my favorite things ever.If you want to share something you're loving (keep it clean ;)), please put it in the comments! I'll check it out! Thanks for sticking with me and I'll see you around the interwebs!Love,Katherine
